The Real Secret To Doing It All

The Real Secret To Doing It All

There is this beautiful imagery floating around about the perfect woman. She cooks, cleans, looks sexy as hell, raises 10 kids, does PTA and helps at bake sales. She also is a wonderful, supportive wife and runs a business or manages a profession, and does it well.

How does she do it all?
How does she balance all of these things?

Surprise: She doesn’t. We don’t. I don’t. You don’t.
Nobody does. It’s not possible.

I am a huge fan of the phrase: "Jack of all trades but master of nothing." Don’t be that person. Becomes a master of something and then utilize that skill to create a better life for you and your family. I am a master at marketing. I rock at it. I can sell things for people that they cannot sell themselves. I have a unique perspective on reaching their potential clients and consumers and making them buy. You know what I hate? Deep cleaning. I hire out for that. I hire out for the lawn. I hire a scheduling service to make my appointments. See the trend? I hire those who are better at their job than I am to do things I am not getting paid for in order to better my life. This goes the same for business. I love social media but there is no way I could run dozens of accounts on my own.

Who benefits from me hiring out?
Me. My clients. My husband. Everyone.

If I truly tried to do it all, I would fail. There is simply not enough time in a day to accomplish all the ‘things’ required to be the best mother, sister, wife, entrepreneur, friend, co-worker, homemaker and volunteer. There are too many hats and something would suffer somewhere.

So pick out what you are going to master, do it over and over again and then utilize it to make your life better.
