Business Tip: Get Reviews!

First of all, I love all the love! I am so blessed to have some amazing testimonials from my clients. It legit makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. 

Real talk though, if you are running a business or are a professional that gets business from referrals, reviews are a MUST. 

First of all, they provide social credibility. The average person is going to trust someone with more real-life testimonials on a social platform than someone who has none or even only on their website (who knows if they are real).

Secondly, you can learn a lot from reviews. It allows you to learn what is working, and not, for your business. I was going through a rebranding and needed to make sure I was creating a clear and consistent message, so we started with looking at my reviews.

Quickly we could see the themes pop up — genuinely caring, activating, making more money, and more.

 Lastly, a BIG one is it also helps with #SEO (search engine optimization = showing up in Google!). Did you know Yelp is directly connected to Siri? That's why you can look up Yelp reviews from imaps -- if iphone users are your target and you have a physical location, building up your yelp reviews is a must! 

So, how do I do it? I generally ask for people to leave reviews on my Facebook page, and then repurpose them on my website and other social media platforms. You can also ask for them on Google and/or Yelp for added value.


  1. Ask for the testimonials after a big win!

  2. Provide the link for the platform you want them to review you on (Remember the one-click-rule) 

  3. Give them prompts: How did you feel before working with me? What was your favorite part of working with me? How do you feel after you worked with me?
